Impact to environment

One of most important things that we must remember in production of any product is the effect that it may have on our planet.  In terms of clothing and in particular shoes we often overlook how bad some of the gases that are produced have on the environment.  The Air Jordan shoe which is most always produced in the Asian Pacific, carries some of the troubling factors that we have researched in this course.  One of the biggest being those of emissions from Carbon Dioxide.  The shoes actually have life cycles that are bad for the planet also.  In most cases shoes are not donated but rather thrown out and have major impacts on the globe.  To make shoes you need large amounts of fuels and chemicals to run the machines that produce the shoes.  "On average it takes about 30 pounds of carbon dioxide to produce one shoe and there are about 15 billion shoes created each year". (theshoeindustry.weebly)  The biggest factor in getting the Air Jordan shoes to America is the coal and gas that is burned to get them to the U.S by ship or air.  You can purchase the shoes at most retailers or certain big box stores.  None of the product that was used to created the shoes were from the U.S.  All of the products and leathers and dyes were created in Asia and other pacific countries.  The box for example that the shoes come is now paper that has been recycled from older material that were not used for production.  This is something that has been done as of late and is not practiced all around the board.

It also cannot be ignored that shoes are not recycled and are rather dumped out at sites that are destroying the environment.  There has to be a effort to get people to see that the waste sites for shoes that are thrown out are not good for the planet at all.
